As the capital of Zhejiang province, Hangzhou serves as its political, economic and cultural center. Hangzhou is indeed a well-developed city, which provides all the essentials you may need for a travel destination. However it is not so much of a historical place any more. If you are looking for some simple and antique traveling experience, Hangzhou will not be such a good idea.
