Convergence of Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek A bridge gained its name from charging people nothing for crossing it.In 1906,it was rebuilt into present steel-structure from the original wooden-structure one,completed in 1856 by British man Wills.As the first steel bridge of Shanghai,it has witnessed Shanghai’s modern history.
